Trainings in the Department:

Diesel engine training and workshop In this training, students learn the basic concepts of working of diesel engine. Students also learn how to disassemble the working engine, description of each part, theoretical concepts and to assemble it again to its working conditions.
Design Training (i) Auto CAD (ii) Solid Works (iii) Pro-e

Auto CAD training covers modules like reasons to use AUTOCAD, the Mouse, viewing, geometry tools, modifying tools, layers, properties, layouts, dimensions.

Solidworks training covers modules like reasons to use CAD, SOLIDWORKS, 3D designing, surfacing, assembly, practice module.

Engineering drawing and measuring instruments involves training in basics of ED, types of lines, types of views, types of projections, sheet layout, dimensioning, design of complicated geometry, introduction to measuring instruments, vernier calipers, micrometer, slip gauges, go-no go gauge, feeler gauge, V-bench, Dial indicator, pitch gauge, bore gauge.

ISHRAE Students' Chapter
ISHRAE "Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air conditioning" is a part of international society heating refrigeration and air conditioning. The main objective of the society is to give in depth knowledge of the subject to professionals and engineering students through short term courses and workshops by experts.   • Guest Lecture on the topic "Impact of Refrigerants on the environment" by Dr. A. K. Ahaluwalia in August, 2015
  • Industrial visit to M/s EDGETECH Air Handling System, Bhadurgarh, for all student members of ISHARE in September, 2015.
  • Re-Installation of ISHRAE-HIET Student chapter, and Oath taking ceremony by Student chapter office bearer, & Certificate distribution to student members in October, 2015.
  • A lecture on "Contribution of ISHRAE on job opportunity" by Mr. Shubir Das (Chair-student activity) &MrPradeepDua (CWC-member), DCI, in October, 2015.

SAE Collegiate club; In this club, students designed and developed solar vehicle and participated in All Asia competition at Lovely Professional University, Punjab and achieved 14th rank out of more than hundred participants.

INDO ASIAN SOLAR CHALLENGE - This competition was held in April, 2015. Students made a promising Vehicle with eccentricity and maneuverability and named it as "Green Turbulence of Adventures". During this event, students learned designing and fabrication of a single seated vehicle powered by a DC motor which can run miles after miles and the potential's of universal energy. Such innovative research and development requires comprehension that can introduce a trend setter automotive locomotion.
